Mayonnaise For Hair Growth

THE WONDERS OF MAYONNAISE

We all want a luxurious, long mane of hair, however this is not always easy to accomplish.  Many of us suffer from the ever breaking, dry and brittle hair leaving it become ever shorter due to splits and breakage at the ends, creating the illusion that your hair simply can't grow.   In addition, mishandling, vigorous combing and styling, continued pulling and stressing of the hair shaft can cause hair to fall out at the scalp.

Mayonnaise is packed with oils which help nourish and moisturize your hair from deep within. It is considered very useful for dry and damaged hair and leaves the hair feeling smooth and shinny.

Benefits of Mayonnaise Hair Treatment:

1. Moisturizes hair

2. Protects from sun:

It creates a coating on hair strands and hence protects it from the sun.

3. Restores pH balance

Vinegar a key ingredient in mayo helps restore the healthy PH balance improving damaged hair

4. Helps stop breakage

Mayonnaise is filled with protein that helps fill the gap and clings on to the hair strands really well. This makes your hair look fuller and gives it an excellent shine.

How to Grow Hair With Mayonnaise

 Ingredients

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon jojoba oil/olive oil/coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon organic honey
  • 4-5 drops of tea tree oil or any other essential oil

Method of Preparation

Put all the ingredients together in a bowl. Mix well so that a smooth paste is formed and your homemade mayonnaise deep conditioner is ready to go!!!!!

Step 1

Always wear a cover up to avoid the mess.

Step 2

Separate your hair into 4 parts, this will allow for ease of application and reduces tangles.  I find that separating my hair gives me equal opportunity to get all the treatment into my hair.

Step 3

Apply treatment onto freshly washed hair right make sure to rinse your hair under warm water. Warm water is suggested as it opens up the pores of your scalp, making it easier for products to reach into the scalp. Apply the mix into each and every part of your scalp, leaving no area to be deprived of the mix.

Step 4

Cover your entire scalp with a plastic cap for at least 30 minutes so that the ingredients of the mix can deep penetrate into your scalp, treating it from within.   Pour a dime-sized amount of sulfate-free shampoo into the palm of your hand and work it into the roots of your hair with your fingertips before rinsing well. This removes any buildup without stripping your hair of the moisture and protein

  Step 5

Gently towel dry the ends of your hair and style as desired. Apply the treatment once or twice a week.

Benefits of the Jamaican Tuna Plant

The Jamaican tuna plant are used as herbal remedies in Jamaica and many other countries.  The flesh of the cactus leaves are sometimes applied directly to minor cuts, burns and musculoskeletal injuries to stimulate healing and reduce pain, which is similar to how the aloe vera plant is used. Furthermore, the fresh sap from the cactus leaves is used as a natural cleaning shampoo and to eliminate dandruff and other scalp problems.

How does the Tuna Plant Benefit Hair

Tuna Leaves aka. Prickly Pears – Not to be confused with aloe vera, tuna is one of those cacti that you can find in any tropical or sub-tropical country. It is a rugged plant that contains something called a penka gel. This gel is an emollient (moisturizer) and is especially beneficial for hair and skin. It is one of the premium additions to hair recipes for hair growth.

In Jamaica this plant is oftne used as a teatment to your hair by simple cutting the leaves and rubbing the internal portion onto the scalp and covering with a plastic cap for 30 mintues then rinsing out.

The Tuna plant much like the aloe vera leaves the scalp feeling clean, soothes itching and strengthens the root of the hair (leaving it thicker).  The plant can be used by all hair types whether your hair is relaxed or in its natural state.

Here is a simple shampoo recipe for you DIY persons out there.

Apple Cider Vinegar and Tuna Shampoo Recipe

ESSENTIALS FOR GROWING LONG HEALTHY HAIR

Ok guys, so i had a conversation with a friend recently and she was like natural hair can only grow if you have mixed hair.  My response to that is ALL hair can grow if you take care of it.
So to help all those persons out there who would love to see their hair grow but have no clue how to get started or take care of the length you are now sporting, here are a few tips to Caring and ultimately growing your hair.

No. 1  Decide......
I know most of you are wondering why i put Decide as the number 1 essential to growing your hair, let me explain.
Every one wants to get that long flowing healthy hair but not everyone is willing to do what it takes to get it.  So for me deciding is the key essential.  Are you really ready to do the work to achieve the results you are looking for? and yes I said "WORK", taking care of your hair takes dedication and a lot of work.  You will have to put in the time for this to pay off.  So again I say
No. 1 Decide... decide....decide and then

No. 2  Create a Routine

Your routine will help you to follow specific steps in caring for your hair and will also help you to track your progress.
  • Wash routine
  • Maintenance Routine
  • Style routine

Wash routine

Detangle

Always detangle your hair before beginning, this will help you to eliminate the chance of breakage from tugging or tangling of the hair, your aim is to grow no break.  One good method is to separate your hair in portions and then detangling by section.

Pre-Poo
What's that you ask?  if you are new (Transitioning) to creating a haircare routine  a Pre-Poo stands for pre-shampoo, the process of sealing/moisturizing prior to your wash day so you can retain more moisture, you can achieve this by applying a hot oil (coconut, oil blend or olive oil).

Benefits of Pre-Poo Natural Hair

  1. Pre-Poo makes the hair more manageable
  2. Pre-Poo makes it easier to detangle your natural hair
  3. It helps reduce breakage of your natural hair
  4. Makes the hair softer
  5. Finally, pre-poo helps to restore lost moisture
Co wash
For me I find that doing a co-wash in the middle of the week keeps my hair looking and feeling alive and healthier.  this has also helped me in my growth. What is Co-wash?
A Co-wash  is a substitute of using shampoo to clean your hair, use conditioner instead. Also known as conditioner-only washing, co-shampooing or conditioner rinsing, the method is great for dry or curly hair because it cleanses just enough without drying hair out, as many shampoos tend to do.

Who should be doing it?
Dry, dehydrated, and damaged hair types find great success with co-washing, as do those with textured natural hair.

Scalp Care
Always remember that your scalp needs love.  If you want healthier longer hair then you may want to look more closely to how you treat and care for your scalp.
Your hair is affected by what you eat. If you suffer from a dry scalp, try incorporating more omega-3 and fish oils into your diet.
Your scalp needs exfoliation. Just like you exfoliate the skin on your face, your scalp can also benefit from a good scrub. Try detoxing at least twice a month for better results.

DIY scalp scrub
Mix together 2 tablespoons each of brown sugar, 1 tablespoon of baking soda, finely ground oatmeal and your hair conditioner in a small bowl. Add 15 drops of the essential oil (Peppermint, tea tree, lavender or vitamin E)of your choice to this scrub mixture. Scoop a few tablespoons of the scalp scrub mixture onto your fingers and scrub your scalp, using a circular motion. Be gentle and do not rub too harshly.

Adding a scalp massage to a hair care regimen stimulates the scalp, improves circulation and reduces stress. Those looking to promote hair growth should consider performing scalp massages regularly.

DFYDT  - Don't Forget your Deep Treat
An essential part of your weekly routine should be to deep treat you hair.  Hair that is deep conditioned regularly is more manageable, softer, less prone to breakage and frizz, and is able to retain length. My recommendation is to start out weekly - if your hair begins feeling weak and limp, lessen to every two or three weeks. If it still feels dry, pump it up to twice a week.
If you want your deep conditioner to work double duty and make your hair feel super soft and smooth (or super strong if it is protein based), heat it up. According to this article by JC of The Natural Haven, heating your deep conditioner up to 35 degrees Celsius (95 degrees Fahrenheit) increases the amount and effectiveness of adsorption
Alternate - To achieve greater results from your deep treating sessions I recommend that you alternate between moisture and protein this will help keep your hair soft, strong, nourished, and minimize breakage, aiding in growth and length retention.

Styling - Protect protect Protect
If your goal is to retain and increase length then incorporating a protective style will aid you on your journey.
What are Protective Styling?
Protective styling is finding hairstyles that require little manipulation and protect your hair especially the ends (most vulnerable part) from the elements physical and environmental agitation.

Its Summer guys and if you didn't love summer enough already, here's the cherry on top of that ice-cream sundae: Hair and nails grow at a faster rate during the warmer months.

now you have the 1, 2 to achieving your healthier hair.........

What are you waiting on?

ALOE VERA - NATURAL CONDITIONER FOR YOUR HAIR

ALOE VERA

Aloe Vera can be found in most hair and skin care products. Aloe vera is known to work wonders in promoting shine and moisture in hair, and preventing hair loss and dandruff.
Here is an easy way you can use this great plant to condiotn your hair.

Step 1  Cut two or three large, thick leaves from the aloe plant. The thicker your hair, the more you will need. Three should be enough for very thick hair.

Step 2 Remove the thick green skin from each leaf. This will expose the clear jelly-like interior of the leaf.

Step 3. Puree the jelly in a blender. Ensure that it is blended completely before removing it from the blender.

Step 4.Strain the blended jelly into a container. It is important to do this so that the jelly is separated from the white sediments that will otherwise get stuck in your hair.

Step 5. After washing your hair, massage the aloe vera jelly into your hair thoroughly, making sure that the hair is saturated from roots to tips.

Step 6. Let the aloe sit in the hair for about five minutes. If you are using an additional treatment product, follow the directions for that product's use instead.

  • Aloe vera contains vitamin E which is very good for our skin.
  • Aloe vera is one of many natural conditioning methods used by girls in the Caribbean, where it is widely available, and can be used in natural or chemically treated hair.
  • Aloe vera gel is good for skin burns and acne as well.
  • he aloe vera leaf gives off an offensive odor when cut, but only as long as the green leaves are around. Once these are discarded the smell is gone. After this don't use any oil that will harm your hair.
  • The aloe vera leaf makes your hair smooth and shiny after applying. Image result for aloe vera for hair
  • Things You'll Need

  • At least three bowls - one to transport the aloe from the outside to the inside, one for the removed green exteriors, one for the separated jelly.
  • A sharp knife
  • A blender
  • A strainer/sieve
  • A steam cap (optional)
  •
